Milan Design Week

Our Milan Design Week in review with a focus on some local designers doing great things.

At the top of the list would have to be two of the biggest names in Australian design, Volker Haug and Flack Studio, who have come together to curate a truly beautiful harmony between light and space in their exhibition titled, Me and You. Showcasing a collection of 13 lighting fixtures, the range demonstrates the stunning collaboration between the minds of an interior and industrial designer, evident in the interplay of tone, tactility, warmth, and craftsmanship.

Second on our list is from Melbourne based lighting brand, Rakumba, who have pulled together 15 designers, predominantly Australian, to showcase a range of commercial lighting pieces with exhibitors including such names as Tom Fereday, Adam Goodrum, Anchor Ceramics and Tom Skeehan, to name a few.

Lastly, we wanted to bring some attention to Sydney based designer, Rhys Cooper for his debut product launch with the Copenhagen based furniture company Muuto. As part of Muuto’s Milan Apartment exhibition, Rhys, amongst many other internationally recognized designers exhibited in an entirely immersive installation showcasing a range of product within a fully furnished apartment within the heart of Milans city centre.
